Papaya is an exotic fruit that measures between 10 to 20 cm. Its shape is oval and is characterized by its color between yellow and orange. It has a delicious flavor because its pulp is sweet and juicy.
Inside has a hole where blacks little seeds are. Papaya has a lot of nutrients as vitamins A, E and C, folic acid, iodine, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, sodium and calcium.
This exotic fruit is originally from Central America, especially from Mexico. It mainly grows in tropical climates, for this reason in Colombia the main producers are in Valle del Cauca, Cesar, Meta and Córdoba departments.
Our papaya mainly comes from Valle del Cauca department.
